COVID-19 Pandemic Response
Last updated 11 April, 2021
Current Status in Ontario
All dental offices are considered essential services and will continue to operate with enhanced precautions as regulated by the RCDSO during the current stay-at-home order.
Why is my appointment not affected?
The government has recognized that healthcare-related appointments are necessary and should be continued to support the health of individuals. Since the beginning of the pandemic, dental facilities such as ours have consistently followed strict guidelines on infection control and patient distancing, as set out by the RCDSO and Ontario Public Health.
As always, we are committed to providing a safe environment for you to access the oral healthcare you need. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to contact us! We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment.
Our primary purpose is to provide comprehensive, patient-centred dental care with integrity and compassion in a safe and comfortable environment. We are a family-oriented practice and treat people of all ages. Our dental team has been chosen for their genuine caring personalities, excellent skills, and gentle touch. We will make every effort to go above and beyond your expectations and we thank you for your trust.
Our COVID-19 Protocols
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have gone to great lengths to create a safe and healthy environment for both our patients and our team. Our enhanced protocols, as detailed in our June 2020 letter to patients, are in place for your added protection.
The improvement of air quality and management of bioaerosols generated during dental treatment have been central issues in safely providing care during this pandemic. Our aerosol management protocols and equipment go above and beyond the most current RCDSO guidelines for dental offices. The fully enclosed and separated design of all of our operatories helps to contain aerosols and substantially enhances the safety of patient care. In addition, we have installed medical-grade air purification/sterilization systems in all areas of the office, including self-contained units in each individual treatment operatory. The Surgically Clean Air system features a six-stage process including:
- a large HEPA filter
- a carbon filter
- a powerful germicidal UV-C+ light
- a photocatalytic cell
- titanium dioxide rods that oxidize bacteria and viruses
- a revitalizing negative ion generator
These extra layers of protection to our already rigorous infection control procedures create a safe environment to allow us to provide the standard of care to which our patients have become accustomed.
